Is a health challenge a pro or a con?

Is a health challenge a motivator to find excuses or create results? It’s up to you! Whether you think you can conquer or not, you’re right! See, mindset has been my key to conquering my health challenges and thriving during the tough times.

As hard as things were when the doctor told me they had to remove half my bottom jaw and do reconstructive surgery by taking my hip bone out, I still found time to smile and tell the doctor that he couldn’t take my hip bone because I’m a Latina and I like to shake it like shakira! And now we have avoided that horrible surgery….

When I had a smaller preventative
surgery in my mouth and we had to remove my root canals, I still found a way to have fun and asked the doctor to wrap up my root canals in a present and we presented Dave with a root canal Grammy (lol).

See, it’s all in finding gratitude. Gratitude and blessings every minute. Compare your situation to someone’s worse case scenario. Go do something nice for someone who can’t do anything back for you. Go write a list of the top ten challenges in your life you conquered before, and how this new challenge will bring you some gifts. Perhaps you don’t see them yet, but trust me, your Creator has a plan for you!

Every day when you hit a block, remember the true enemy is within yourself, ego. It shows up in your life as anger, entitlement, pride, and other negative emotions. Instead say ten things you’re grateful for, go on a quick five minute walk or breathe and close your eyes for five minutes. Beat the ego because that is what creates chaos in your life. Resist pride. Become humble and serve and you will see…your life will be completely different a year from now!

I challenge you now to find the gift in every challenge, and become an official treasure hunter!!

Gratitude keeps us grounded, indeed. It connects us to a part of us that brings out the good in us and that positive energy it exudes is just a wonderful thing. This post brought a smile to my face. : )
