A miracle is around the corner…

Thank you everyone for your beautiful prayers and your kind words.  As many of you know, a year ago I was diagnosed with a very rare tumor in the jawbone known as “ameloblastoma.”  It was a truly difficult year as my father-in-law also tragically passed away (see www.galoulloa.com) and as I was diagnosed, I was only given the choice to have a three-part surgery (9 months), where they would remove a quarter of my jaw, then go to my hipbone, remove the bone, implant it into my jaw, and do a nine-month reconstructive surgery process.

As difficult as that year was, it was also one of the best years of our lives because God blessed us with strength, friends and the ability to find the gifts in every one of the challenges.

Being part of the Tony Robbins peer group and community, I was looking for alternatives and saw just about every doctor that offered alternative treatments.  Finally I found a scientist Doctor who created a treatment that was blessed with the work of five Nobel Peace prize winners on blood work, research and cures.  I started this alternative treatment a year ago (because surgery is the last last last option).

Yesterday, the day after Valentines day, marked the one year anniversary since I started taking the treatment.  Since the tumor is in the bone, it is a slightly slower process than fixing ailments of the blood or anywhere else in the body.  Usually, bone takes 8 years to re-build.  Our target is to do it in less than 2 years.

I would like to thank the prayer warriors, the love from our FB community and the pouring of support we have received from all of you.  Yesterday I went for my first progress X-ray.  I have been guided by faith and nothing else, trusting the Lord in the process.  Although I was hoping for a true miracle and for the tumor to be completely gone, that is not the news I got.

We need to go for additional testing as it’s too difficult to tell details of such importance through a routine X-ray.  So next week I’m going for a 3-D Cat Scan to measure the progress of this journey.  To be honest, I was hoping for a large miracle and for the tumor to be completely gone.  This treatment had fixed major issues with my blood in just a few days and I have seen major changes in the blood work of some of my friends with similar issues.

However, I have to remember.  I’m not on my own timeline here…I’m on God’s timeline.  He has it in this that he wants me to learn patience, trust, and a few more “gifts” that this journey will deliver.

The GREAT news is that the tumor has stopped growing, where in two years prior to this, it had grown very aggressively.  From the preliminary work we could almost tell it had started going backwards…but we won’t know for sure until we get the three-dimensional work.

There are no coincidences in life.  Twice yesterday some friends told me to check out Kris Carr, a young lady who has stage 4 incurable cancer and has not only defied the odds but lived the last 10 years with cancer in the most unbelievable way.  Check out www.crazysexylife.com for her site.  She truly inspired me…what an amazing role model for what is possible.

One of the things I teach is to be grateful for the challenges we get sent and turn them into gifts.  I got two BIG gifts yesterday!  One that the tumor has stopped growing (and possibly already started the backwards process), and the other, that I got to find out about Crazy Sexy Cancer a documentary on TLC about a young lady in a similar journey as mine.

Awhhh…wish things were easier — but my mentor Jim Rohn says to instead…wish “I were better.” I am better because of all of you.    I am stronger because of your prayers.  And I continue to live my mission to empower people even in my toughest days.  Yesterday was a “not so fun day” as I didn’t get the news I wanted.  But I have everything, and I mean everything.  My husband has been my pillar, my strength, my everything.   My family, my friends, my business partners have showed up at a level I didn’t think was possible…I am so blessed.  So lucky.  So happy.  And today was one of the best days of my life.  Because I got to live my mission to empower people, amidst one of my toughest points.  Thank you God for guiding me with strength…joy…and passion.  Thank you everyone for lifting me up so high with prayers…

God Bless you beautiful Yvette!!! You will continue to be in my thoughts & prayers as you go thru this journey, and I know God will guide you to the answers to knock out that tumor forever!! It’s so true, we realize that we have lessons yet to learn – I was successfully treated for an aggressive breast cancer 4 years ago, but never would have imagined last year would be the most difficult – due to complications originally stemming from radiation I ended up needing major reconstructive surgery. Funny, it was just after I first discovers WV that all of this happened – while I’m a go with the flow type of person, even I often wondered what it was all about, and was frustrated that I couldn’t put all of my effort into this amazing business I’d discovered due to all the surgeries I was faced with. I too came to see the lessons & gifts I still needed to receive, and continue to see them as Im just now getting back into the swing of things. I am the person I am because of all I’ve been thru, and i know God is directing me to use these gifts to inspire others. Faith is what gets us thru these challenges & the rewards are more than we could ever imagine – it just gets a bit bumpy along the way sometimes!!! 🙂 I pray for you on your journey & that you’d continue to receive all these wonderful gifts, most of all the complete healing you’re longing to see! Keep on living strong & kick the crap outta that tumor – may it not along regress, but be demolished once & for all! Keep on keepin’ on, and God Bless you and Dave!!!

Thank you for being who you are, Yvette! 🙂

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way but my father died in 98 from ameloblastoma, how are you doing with the surgeries and everything? I’m trying to find survivors of the cancer to talk to as to I was very young when he passed away

god bless us all..i have the same problem but here in our country, i’m from Philippines by the way ..the treatment i got was just to remove the tumor orally and to treat the affected part with carnoy’s solution and they have to scrape the affected bone as well ..i just had my surgery 2 weeks ago…they dont have to cut or remove any bones in this procedure but chances of recurrence is 25% to 15%..i hope this will help..

    Yvette,

Thanks for sharing your journey. I was diagnosed with ameloblastoma in May, 2010. I have spent the last two years attacking the “spiritual” roots of the disease and have learned alot about myself–and those around me. The tumor has grown significantly since 2010 and I just saw my doctor again last week. They would now have to remove 3/4 of my jaw and all but 3 teeth. I am a singer, actress, and Director of a Performing Arts Center–not having teeth for several months would be devastating to me–would you please share with me the Doctor who is treating you so I could possibly avoid this invasive surgery? Time is of the essence
    Thanks and many blessings,
    Tracy Pinkerton- Lufkin, TX

Hi Tracy, ive been dealing with multiple doctors and it has been a chase. I am so sorry for what you are going through. I believe my healing has been 30-30-30 in terms of percentages. 30% bone regrowth 30 emotional healing (fb me for the long list of what I did) 30 naturopath healing (dr sue 800-801-0922) and removing metals in my mouth. For the bone treatment contact tosh 210-831-3535 we have been able to contain the tumor for 2 yrs but again you have to couple that with alkaline eating (see kris Carr). Blessings my sister…

Kudos to the faith & strength shown in the combat. Please also elucidate the treatment actually taken. It would be a great help in bringing relief to many who are sailing in similar boat as you were.
My Mother, now 65, has under surgery for removal of cist(ameloblastoma) in 2006. Consequently, she lost 5 teeth in the lower jaw and a little void in the gums, but not much of deformity in the lower jaw. Now it is detected that the formation of ameloblastoma has recurred. Doctor advises surgery again for its removal and no gaurantee that it would not recurr in future. Please advise alternate treatment to avoid surgery.
